Clinical Application

Designed for otologic procedures where precise, atraumatic traction and tissue control are required. Common uses include elevation of the tympanomeatal flap, gentle manipulation of the tympanic membrane, removal of soft tissue or granulation tissue within the ear canal and middle ear, and controlled placement or adjustment of graft material during tympanoplasty or canalplasty. The 90° hook geometry facilitates access to recesses of the middle ear and regions obscured by canal overhangs.

Design & Configuration

The 90° bend places the hook tip perpendicular to the instrument shaft, allowing the surgeon to approach tissue from a lateral-to-medial direction while maintaining a clear line of sight down the ear canal. The fine, hooked tip concentrates force at a small contact point for precise traction without excessive tissue grip, reducing the risk of tearing delicate membranes. A slender shaft minimizes obstruction in narrow canals and improves maneuverability in confined anatomic spaces.
