Clinical Application
This micro alligator forceps is designed for precision work within the external auditory canal and other confined spaces. Its small 4 mm distal tip and upward jaw orientation facilitate controlled retrieval of foreign bodies, targeted removal of cerumen and debris, and manipulation of small items such as packing or cotton pledgets during routine ENT and otologic procedures. The short, stiff shaft and micro jaws enable one-handed, microscope- or otoscope-assisted handling for use in clinic, ambulatory surgery centers, and operating rooms.
Design & Configuration
The upward angulation of the distal jaws improves access to the superior and posterior aspects of the ear canal without the need to excessively manipulate the patient’s head or instrument shaft. The alligator-style micro tip provides a narrow footprint to enter tight recesses while allowing the operator to visualize the grasped object from above. The 8.5 cm overall length balances reach into the canal with tactile control at the handle, reducing hand fatigue during fine maneuvers.
