Clinical Application
Designed to provide controlled delivery and removal of fluids within the ear, this instrument is used for irrigation of the external auditory canal, directed instillation of topical medications, and assistance with suctioning during routine ENT procedures and minor operative cases. Its geometry facilitates atraumatic access to the canal and operative ear field, making it useful in clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and operating rooms for procedures such as cerumen management, ear toilette, and intraoperative field clearance.
Design & Configuration
The figure-4 contoured lumen follows the anatomic curvature of the external auditory canal to help align the delivery or evacuation port along the canal axis. This angled configuration improves control and visualization during irrigation or suction maneuvers and reduces the need for repeated instrument repositioning. The open-lumen tip directs flow while minimizing direct contact with delicate canal skin and tympanic membrane margins.
