Clinical Application

Designed for controlled irrigation and aspiration within the external auditory canal and operative middle ear field, this Hartmann ear catheter is used during otologic examinations, cerumen and debris removal, intraoperative irrigation, and minor aural procedures in clinic, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospital ENT suites. Its pre-formed geometry allows the clinician to introduce and direct fluid or suction with minimal manipulation while maintaining visibility under the otologic microscope.

Design & Configuration

The Figure 3 pre-formed curvature is intended to follow the anatomic arc of the external auditory canal, enabling direct access to common target areas without excessive angulation at the hand. A slim tubular lumen and rounded distal tip reduce the risk of iatrogenic trauma to the canal and tympanic membrane while permitting efficient fluid flow for irrigation or aspiration. The proximal end accepts connection to standard suction or irrigation setups, allowing integration into routine otologic workflows.
