Clinical Application
This Macintosh laryngoscope set is configured for direct laryngoscopy to facilitate visualization of the glottic opening and placement of endotracheal tubes during airway management. The included blade sizes (3 and 4) cover the typical adult patient population, supporting applications in the operating room, emergency department, intensive care unit, and ambulatory surgery centers. Fiber-optic illumination enhances visualization through the curved blade, helping clinicians obtain a reliable view of the vocal cords for rapid, controlled intubation.
Design & Configuration
The Macintosh curved blade design is intended to lift the epiglottis indirectly by positioning the blade tip in the vallecula, which is the accepted technique for standard oral intubation. Curved geometry reduces the need for excessive force and improves line-of-sight when combined with efficient illumination. Fiber-optic light transmission provides bright, focused illumination at the distal blade, improving contrast and reducing shadowing in the oropharynx. The set format (three components) provides a compact selection of blades and handle components to equip procedural trays for adult airway management.
Instrument Specifications
- Set configuration: 3-piece set
- Blade pattern: Macintosh (curved)
- Blade sizes: #3 and #4 (adult sizes)
- Blade length: 90 mm
- Illumination: fiber-optic (F/O)

Material & Construction
Blades are manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel for durability and reprocessing. Fiber-optic illumination is integrated into the blade to transmit light to the distal tip without relying on an external bulb at the blade face. The construction supports reusable clinical workflows and repeated handling in high-use settings.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
