Clinical Application
This conventional blade set is intended for direct laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation in neonates and small infants. The included Miller straight blades (#0 and #1) provide direct elevation of the epiglottis for improved glottic exposure in very small airways, while the Macintosh curved blade (#0) facilitates indirect lifting of the epiglottis by positioning in the vallecula. The combination of straight and curved pediatric sizes supports airway management across a range of neonatal and infant patients in the operating room, NICU, PICU, emergency departments, and transport settings.
Design & Configuration
Straight (Miller) and curved (Macintosh) blade geometries deliver complementary visualization strategies: the Miller blade is used to directly lift the epiglottis for a line-of-sight approach in tiny airways, and the Macintosh blade relies on vallecular placement to expose the vocal cords indirectly. Offering Miller sizes 0 and 1 plus a Macintosh 0 in a single set allows clinicians to select the blade shape and size that best matches patient anatomy and the clinician's preferred technique without delay. The small pediatric sizes minimize tongue displacement and reduce the risk of airway trauma when used with appropriate technique.
Instrument Specifications
- Conventional, reusable laryngoscope blades
- Includes: Miller #0, Miller #1, Macintosh #0
- Blade geometries: straight (Miller) and curved (Macintosh)
- Indicated use: neonatal and infant direct laryngoscopy and intubation
- Construction: surgical-grade stainless steel, reusable
Material & Construction
Blades are manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel for durability and repeated reprocessing. This set uses conventional (non–fiber-optic) blade designs intended for use with compatible reusable laryngoscope handles and illumination systems. Reusable construction supports standard instrument cleaning and sterilization workflows in hospital and ambulatory surgical settings.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
