Clinical Application

Designed to provide controlled, atraumatic separation of ribs for access to the thoracic cavity. Commonly used during posterolateral and anterolateral thoracotomy, pulmonary resections, mediastinal procedures and other open thoracic operations where stable exposure of intercostal spaces is required. The blade dimensions and self-retaining mechanism support single-operator maintenance of a consistent field while assistants perform suction, suction–irrigation, and operative maneuvers.
