Clinical Application
Designed for controlled, atraumatic dilation of arterial and venous lumens during open vascular and endovascular-assisted procedures. Common uses include gradual dilation of an arteriotomy or venotomy to accept grafts, cannulae, shunts or introducer sheaths, facilitating passage of sutures or devices and improving access in femoral, iliac and other peripheral exposures.
Design & Configuration
The instrument’s tapered, atraumatic tip and continuous shaft geometry allow progressive dilation with minimized intimal trauma. A 4.0 mm tip diameter provides a predictable working size for small- to medium-caliber vessels, while the 35 cm shaft length enables reach to deeper or less accessible operative sites without frequent repositioning. The smooth transition from tip to shaft reduces catching on vessel edges and supports controlled advancement and withdrawal during anastomosis or device introduction.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Vascular dilator (tapered)
- Pattern / model: DeBakey
