Clinical Application
This side‑biting vascular clamp is designed to provide controlled partial occlusion of large vessels during vascular repair and anastomosis. By allowing isolation of a segment of a vessel while maintaining distal perfusion, it facilitates suturing and reconstruction in procedures such as vena caval or aortic anastomoses, hepatic vein control, and selected cardiovascular or general vascular operations where temporary partial clamping is required.
Design & Configuration
The Fig.2 configuration features a long shaft and side‑biting jaw geometry that enable application to large, superficial or partially exposed vessels without circumferential clamping. The side‑biting jaw spreads pressure across the vessel wall to reduce focal intimal trauma while the length (26.5 cm) gives reach into deeper operative fields. A secure ratchet/locking mechanism permits incremental closure and reliable maintenance of the chosen occlusion level during suturing and repair.
Instrument Specifications

Material & Construction
Constructed from surgical‑grade stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance, the instrument is built for repeated clinical use and routine sterilization cycles. Jaws and hinge geometry are engineered to provide consistent clamping force while minimizing vessel trauma. The clamp is supplied as a reusable instrument intended for standard sterilization and inspection protocols between cases.
