Clinical Application
Designed for temporary vessel occlusion in carotid and cervical vascular procedures, this atraumatic clamp provides controlled hemostasis during carotid endarterectomy and other vascular exposures. The atraumatic jaw profile permits secure occlusion while minimizing compression-related injury to the arterial intima, making it suitable for delicate manipulation of the common and internal carotid arteries and nearby vessels.
Design & Configuration
The long-shank geometry extends reach into deep or confined neck exposures without crowding the operative field. Narrow, blunt jaws distribute clamping pressure across a broader surface to reduce focal stress on the vessel wall. A locking ratchet on the handle secures sustained occlusion without continuous manual force, freeing the surgeon's hands for dissection and plaque removal. The slender profile improves visibility around the clamp and facilitates atraumatic placement and removal.
