Clinical Application
Designed for temporary vascular control of large central veins, this clamp is used when secure, atraumatic occlusion of the inferior vena cava or other major venous structures is required. Typical applications include open vascular and cardiothoracic procedures, caval repair or reconstruction, hepatic mobilization during liver surgery, transplant exposure, tumor resections with caval involvement, and trauma cases where proximal and distal control of a large vein is essential to achieve hemostasis and permit safe repair.
Design & Configuration
The long 27 cm shaft provides extended reach into deep or confined operative fields while keeping the operator’s hands clear of the surgical site. Broad occluding jaws distribute clamping force across the vessel lumen to reduce focal pressure and help minimize intimal injury during temporary occlusion. Ring handles with a positive locking mechanism allow the clamp to be secured at the desired tension for reliable vessel control, and the overall geometry is optimized for controlled, reproducible grasping of large-caliber veins.
