Clinical Application

Designed to provide controlled occlusion of large-caliber arteries during open vascular and cardiothoracic procedures. The long 31 cm shaft enables proximal and distal control of the thoracic or abdominal aorta in aneurysm repair, clamp-and-sew reconstruction, and other procedures requiring deep or wide exposure. Atraumatic jaws are intended to minimize intimal injury while maintaining secure vessel control during temporary cross-clamping.

Design & Configuration

The extended 31 cm length gives reach into deep mediastinal or retroperitoneal fields without transferring undue force to the surgeon’s hands. Atraumatic jaw geometry reduces focal pressure on the vessel wall and helps preserve the intima during prolonged occlusion. A slender shaft profile facilitates placement in confined operative corridors and between adjacent structures, allowing precise positioning on the aorta or large arterial branches.

Instrument Specifications

  • Instrument type: Vascular clamp for aortic control
  • Pattern/model: DeBakey atraumatic aortic aneurysm clamp
  • Configuration: Long‑shaft atraumatic clamp for deep access
  • Length: 31 cm
  • Tip/jaw pattern: Atraumatic vascular jaws designed to minimize intimal trauma
  • Typical use: Open aortic aneurysm repair and large-vessel occlusion
  • Material: Surgical-grade stainless steel
