Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic vascular control, this curved DeBakey–Pean artery forceps is used to occlude, manipulate, and provide temporary hemostasis on arteries and small- to medium-sized vessels. Its atraumatic jaw profile permits secure grip of vascular tissue with minimal endothelial trauma, making it suitable for general, vascular, cardiothoracic, and transplant procedures where vessel preservation is important.
Design & Configuration
The curved shaft improves line-of-sight and working angle in deep or confined fields, allowing the shaft to clear surrounding tissues while the jaws engage the vessel. The combination of a Pean-style robust body with DeBakey-style atraumatic longitudinal serrations delivers balanced strength and gentle tissue contact: body stiffness supports reliable clamping while the fine serrations distribute pressure to reduce crush injury to vessel walls. A precision box-lock and ratcheted handle provide tactile feedback and secure locking at multiple settings for controlled occlusion.
