Clinical Application

Provides atraumatic vessel occlusion and control of iliac and other large peripheral arteries and veins during open vascular, trauma, aortoiliac and transplant procedures. The DeBakey jaw pattern is intended to distribute compressive forces across the vessel wall, reducing focal pressure and minimizing intimal injury when temporary occlusion is required for proximal or distal control, anastomosis, or hemorrhage management.

Design & Configuration

The DeBakey jaw geometry uses longitudinal, fine serrations that grip soft vascular tissue without penetrating the wall, making it suitable for delicate vessel handling. An iliac configuration facilitates access and clamping in the pelvic/retroperitoneal field where exposure and working angles differ from more central thoracic approaches. A secure ratchet locking mechanism permits controlled, sustained occlusion while freeing the assistant for other tasks.
