Clinical Application
Provides a stable, direct tracheal airway for perioperative and long-term airway management. Indications include prolonged mechanical ventilation, facilitation of pulmonary toilet, bypass of upper airway obstruction, and administration of supplemental oxygen or anesthesia. Frequently used by ENT surgeons, trauma teams, and critical care clinicians during elective tracheostomy or emergency tracheotomy procedures.
Design & Configuration
The curved cannula geometry follows the tracheal axis to reduce mucosal contact and minimize kinking during neck movement. A low-profile neck flange enables secure fixation to the neck, maintaining alignment and reducing lateral movement. Removable inner cannula options simplify lumen cleaning at the bedside, while cuffed designs create a seal for positive-pressure ventilation and uncuffed or fenestrated designs allow for improved secretion clearance and phonation when clinically appropriate. An obturator is used to provide a smooth leading edge during insertion and is removed once the outer cannula is in place.

Material & Construction
Manufactured from biocompatible medical-grade materials selected for airway use; product offerings typically include soft, patient-comfort focused polymer variants for short-term or disposable use and metal options for reusable applications. Design choices—such as smooth internal surfaces and removable inner cannulae—reduce secretion adherence and simplify reprocessing or bedside cleaning.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
