Clinical Application

Designed for definitive airway management in patients with a tracheostoma, this curved tracheostomy tube is used to maintain a patent airway, enable mechanical ventilation or manual assisted ventilation, and provide direct access for suctioning and pulmonary toilet. Its configuration is suited for postoperative tracheostomy care, long-term airway maintenance, and situations requiring a durable, non-kinking lumen.

Design & Configuration

The Figure 3 curvature follows the natural axis from stoma to trachea to minimize kinking and reduce medial pressure on the tracheal wall. A rigid, anatomically oriented curve facilitates straightforward insertion and stable positioning in the tracheal lumen while permitting unobstructed access for suction catheters and bronchoscopic inspection when clinically indicated. The 7 mm nominal bore is selected to balance airflow capacity with stoma anatomy in adult patients.
