Clinical Application
This trachea retractor is designed to provide controlled exposure of the anterior trachea and adjacent soft tissues during airway procedures. It is used to retract the trachea and maintain consistent visualization and access for tracheostomy, portions of thyroidectomy, paratracheal dissections, and other anterior neck operations where temporary displacement of the airway improves operative access or facilitates tube placement.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended (D/E) configuration offers two usable profiles on a single instrument, allowing the surgeon to select the more appropriate end for approach angle or tissue thickness without exchanging instruments. At 15 cm overall length the instrument provides sufficient reach for adult anterior neck work while maintaining a low-profile shaft to minimize obstruction in the field. The slender retraction surfaces are intended to distribute pressure evenly to reduce focal tissue trauma while preserving exposure for the operative team.
