Clinical Application
Designed to provide secure, controlled elevation and stabilization of the anterior trachea during airway procedures. Commonly used to expose tracheal rings and maintain tension on the trachea during tracheostomy and cricothyrotomy, as well as during select thyroid, neck and ENT procedures where gentle retraction of the airway is required. The blunt tip reduces the risk of perforation while allowing predictable engagement of the tracheal surface.
Design & Configuration
The single-hook, blunt configuration concentrates purchase on the anterior tracheal surface for reliable traction without barbed or toothed penetration. A slender, 18 cm working length provides reach into the surgical field while preserving tactile control for the operator. The blunt hook geometry is intended to minimize tissue trauma and allow controlled elevation of the trachea for tube placement, suturing, or dissection.
