Clinical Application
Designed for controlled bone removal and shaping in confined operative fields. The up-biting jaw orientation provides a superior approach for nibbling bone and osteophytes when access is limited from above, making the instrument useful in spinal and neurosurgical decompression, as well as in orthopedic, ENT and oral/maxillofacial procedures where precision bone bites are required.
Design & Configuration
The up-biting ("up") geometry orients the cutting edge to take bites toward the instrument shaft, which improves access under bone ledges and beneath soft-tissue overhangs while maintaining a clear line of sight for the surgeon. The 18.5 cm shaft length balances reach into deeper cavities with tactile control at the handles; the 4x14 mm jaw provides a moderate bite volume for incremental removal of cortical or cancellous bone with predictable control. The short, focused bite reduces the need for repeated passes and helps protect adjacent soft tissue.
