Clinical Application
This compact battery handle provides the operator grip and electrical power required for conventional blade-mounted illumination during direct laryngoscopy. It is used by anesthesia, emergency medicine, and critical care teams for airway assessment and endotracheal tube placement when a small-profile handle is preferred—for example, in patients with limited mouth opening, paediatric cases, or when a lower-profile handpiece improves access and manoeuvrability.
Design & Configuration
The reduced-diameter “Small” form factor minimizes interference with the patient’s jaws and teeth and allows closer, more controlled blade manipulation during intubation. The handle houses the battery compartment and provides the electrical interface to conventional laryngoscope blades that carry the illumination bulb. A compact ergonomic shape supports one-handed operation and facilitates rapid attachment and removal of blades during induction or airway interventions.
