Clinical Application
Designed for delicate separation and mobilization of the dura mater, this dissector is used during cranial and spinal procedures where controlled, atraumatic blunt dissection is required. Typical applications include elevating dura from bone during craniotomy, releasing dural adhesions, developing planes immediately beneath the dura, and creating or extending dural windows while minimizing risk to the underlying arachnoid and cortical surface.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended configuration provides two working tips in a single instrument, allowing the surgeon to change tip orientation or profile quickly without exchanging instruments. The 24 cm shaft length offers reach into deeper cranial and some spinal corridors while maintaining tactile feedback at the tip. Atraumatic blunt tips facilitate blunt dissection and gentle tissue separation, reducing the risk of tearing delicate dural tissue and adjacent neurovascular structures.
