Clinical Application
This straight Miller blade is sized to provide a long exposure of the airway for direct laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation in adult patients. The straight tip geometry is used to directly lift the epiglottis rather than indirectly via the vallecula, which can improve visualization of the vocal cords in certain anatomies and during controlled airway management in the operating room, emergency department, or procedural suite.
Design & Configuration
The Miller pattern features a rigid, straight profile that extends along the midline of the tongue to engage and elevate the epiglottis. The #4 length (180 mm) provides added reach and exposure for larger adult patients or when a deeper insertion is required. Integrated fiber-optic illumination (F/O) delivers light along the blade to illuminate the glottic opening without relying solely on an external light source, improving visualization in routine and difficult airways.
Instrument Specifications
- Pattern: Miller straight blade
- Size: #4 (180 mm)
- Illumination: Fiber-optic (F/O) integrated
- Intended use: Direct laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation
- Reusable design for repeated clinical use
Material & Construction
Constructed for reusable clinical use from corrosion-resistant stainless steel with an integrated fiber-optic light channel to provide consistent illumination of the airway. The robust straight profile resists deformation under normal clinical loading and is compatible with repeated cleaning and sterilization cycles typical for reusable laryngoscope blades.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
