Clinical Application
Used to harvest and free tendons through a limited incision during orthopedic and hand procedures. The instrument is commonly employed to obtain graft material (for example hamstring or forearm tendons) and to strip the tendon from surrounding soft tissue and fascial attachments while minimizing enlargement of the surgical exposure. The 4 mm stripping tip is suitable for small-to-medium caliber tendons where a slim profile and atraumatic handling are required.
Design & Configuration
The straight shaft geometry provides direct alignment with the tendon course, facilitating controlled advancement along the tendon sheath. A narrow 4 mm stripping tip permits passage through a small longitudinal or transverse incision and reduces soft-tissue disruption during harvest. The overall 15 cm length gives reach for common donor sites while maintaining tactile feedback and maneuverability in confined operative fields.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Tendon stripper (Bunnell pattern)
- Configuration: Straight shaft, single stripping tip
- Size: 15 cm overall length
- Tip dimension: 4 mm stripping diameter
- Intended use: Tendon harvesting and atraumatic release for grafting or repair
- Reusable construction
Material & Construction
Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel to provide the strength and corrosion resistance expected of reusable operative instruments. The slim profile and smooth tip geometry are intended to limit tissue snagging and permit atraumatic dissection when advancing along the tendon plane. Designed for repeated clinical use with routine reprocessing between procedures.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
