Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic elevation and reflection of the periosteum and mucoperiosteal flaps, the key-shaped periosteal elevator is used to create and maintain a clear dissection plane during exposure of bone. Its broad 25 mm blade surface is suitable for elevating larger sections of periosteum or mucosa and for controlled undermining during procedures in oral/maxillofacial surgery, dental extractions, periodontics, ENT approaches, and selected orthopedic tasks where a flat, blunt lifting surface is required.
Design & Configuration
The key-shaped blade provides a wide, flat contact area to distribute lifting forces and reduce focal pressure on tissue, improving control when reflecting flaps. The 19 cm overall length offers sufficient reach for intraoral and extraoral access while maintaining tactile feedback and leverage. The single-ended straight shaft preserves a simple profile that facilitates insertion under the periosteum and controlled levering along bone contours.
