Clinical Application
A periosteal rasp with a Langenbeck-style geometry and a 90° angulation provides focused abrasive contact to cortical bone surfaces. It is used to smooth and contour irregular bone edges after osteotomy, to refine grafts and bone segments, and to abrade small areas of cortical bone to improve graft apposition. The right-angle orientation is particularly useful in confined or deep operative fields where a straight rasp cannot achieve perpendicular contact, such as mandibular, orbital, sinus, or limited-access orthopedic sites.
Design & Configuration
The Langenbeck-style handle offers tactile control for short, controlled strokes while the 90° bend places the rasp surface perpendicular to the working bone surface. This geometry reduces the need to reposition the patient or the instrument repeatedly and helps maintain consistent pressure and angle during rasping. The abrasive surface is designed to remove small irregularities and burrs without aggressive bone loss, allowing for precise contouring and finishing.

Material & Construction
Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel to withstand repeated use and standard sterilization cycles. The single-piece or securely assembled rasp blade and handle provide rigidity required for controlled bone work. Designed for reusable use with routine sterilization and inspection between cases.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
