Clinical Application
Designed for focused curettage and controlled removal of bone and fibrous tissue, this Spratt bone curette is suited to procedures that require delicate, localized scraping or scooping in confined anatomy. Common applications include removal of granulation tissue and loose cancellous bone, trimming bone edges, curettage of small cysts or lesions, and preparation of bone surfaces prior to grafting in orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT, hand and foot surgery.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features a narrow shaft terminating in a small, spoon-shaped working end. This geometry provides tactile feedback and precise control during incremental scraping or scooping motions, making it effective in tight operative fields where preservation of adjacent structures is critical. The shallow cup of the tip allows controlled engagement with bone surfaces and facilitates removal of small fragments without excessive gouging.
