Clinical Application
Designed for direct laryngoscopy and placement of endotracheal tubes in routine adult airways, this Macintosh #3 blade (108 mm) is the standard size for average adult patients. The flexible distal tip provides fine control of epiglottic exposure, aiding visualization of the glottic opening during orotracheal intubation. It is intended for use in operating rooms, emergency departments, intensive care units and ambulatory surgery centers where a reliable, reusable Macintosh blade is required.
Design & Configuration
The Macintosh curved geometry positions the blade in the vallecula to indirectly lift the epiglottis and expose the vocal cords, a technique familiar to most practitioners. The integrated flexible distal tip allows targeted elevation of the epiglottis or subtle adjustment of the blade tip without excessive levering on the teeth or soft tissues, which can improve view in patients with limited neck mobility or borderline visualization. The conventional blade body provides the rigidity and tactile feedback clinicians expect from reusable laryngoscope blades.
