Clinical Application

This left-oriented bone curette is designed for precise manual removal of bone and soft tissue from osseous surfaces. It is used for curettage, debridement of granulation tissue, contouring of bone margins, and obtaining small bone or cancellous samples for biopsy or grafting. The left-facing bowl allows controlled engagement of cortical and cancellous surfaces when working from the opposite side of the surgical field, improving access in confined anatomy such as sinus tracts, interdigital spaces, hand and wrist, and certain spine or ENT approaches.

Design & Configuration

The instrument’s left orientation places the concave scraping edge to the surgeon’s left when the handle is held in a neutral grip, enabling ergonomic hand positioning and clear sightlines when approaching a bone surface from the contralateral side. The Fig.5 pattern denotes a moderate-sized spoon-shaped bowl that balances tissue capture with tactile feedback. The 16 cm overall length provides reach into deeper wounds or tight operative corridors while preserving tactile control for delicate bone work.
