Clinical Application

This curved pediatric laryngoscope blade is sized and shaped to facilitate direct laryngoscopy and orotracheal intubation in neonates and small infants. The Macintosh geometry is intended to seat in the vallecula to achieve indirect elevation of the epiglottis, improving visualization of the glottic opening while minimizing force on the epiglottis and surrounding tissues. Fiber-optic illumination along the blade improves visualization in small oral cavities where line-of-sight is limited.
