Clinical Application
This osteotome is designed for controlled bone incision, trimming and controlled propagation of osteotomies. Its 16 mm blade width suits moderate-width bone work such as cortical bone windows, shaping of bone margins, splitting cortical plates, and graft harvest in orthopedics, hand/foot surgery, maxillofacial, ENT and select dental procedures. Intended to be used with light mallet impact or manual hand pressure to transmit focused force to the cutting edge while protecting surrounding soft tissues.
Design & Configuration
The chisel-style, beveled cutting tip concentrates impact force along a flat edge for predictable penetration and plane control. A straight shank and 13.5 cm overall length provide good tactile feedback and reach in shallow to moderate operative fields while maintaining surgeon control during mallet-driven or hand-driven maneuvers. The 16 mm blade width balances cutting surface area with the ability to make precise, narrow cuts when creating bone windows or shaping grafts.
