Clinical Application
Soft 0.2 mm bone wire is used for circumferential cerclage and fine wiring where delicate handling and close conformity to small bony contours are required. Typical applications include fixation of small bone fragments in craniofacial, maxillofacial, oral surgery, hand and foot procedures, and select pediatric orthopaedic reconstructions. It is also used as an adjunct for temporary stabilization and for securing osteosynthesis components where a thin, pliable wire is preferred.
Design & Configuration
The soft construction provides high malleability, allowing the wire to be twisted and contoured around irregular bone surfaces with minimal spring-back. At 0.2 mm diameter the profile is low, permitting tight apposition of fragments without adding bulk. The spool configuration delivers continuous wire for multiple cuts and lengths, improving efficiency in the operating room and reducing the need to join short segments.
