Clinical Application

This 20 cm metal band is intended as the replaceable circumferential element used with standard cerclage and tensioning systems. In clinical practice it is selected when a continuous metal strip is required to approximate bone fragments, support osteotomies, or secure the sternum following median sternotomy. When used with a compatible tensioner and crimping/locking device, the band transmits compressive force evenly around the loading surface to reduce point-loading and cut-through associated with wire-based cerclage.
