Clinical Application

This 2 mm Adson-style drill is intended for controlled manual drilling with a Hudson Brace hand crank. It is used to create small-diameter pilot holes in cortical and cancellous bone where tactile feedback and fine control are required, such as cranial perforation, skull flap placement, delicate craniofacial work, ENT procedures, dental implant site preparation, and small-plate fixation in orthopedics. Manual use with a Hudson Brace allows the surgeon to modulate speed and pressure precisely in confined or delicate anatomy.

Design & Configuration

The slim, Hudson Brace–compatible shank and 2 mm cutting tip provide a compact profile for improved visibility and access in tight surgical fields. The small diameter reduces bone removal while enabling accurate pilot-hole placement for subsequent taps or screws. The hand-drilled configuration preserves tactile feedback and reduces the risk of sudden high-speed advancement, which can be advantageous near critical structures.
