Clinical Application
Designed for safe and efficient removal of dressings, adhesive tapes, bandages, and light wound packing without contacting or traumatizing underlying skin. Commonly used in operating rooms, procedure suites, emergency departments, inpatient wards, and outpatient clinics for postoperative dressing changes, wound care, and minor bedside procedures where rapid, controlled cutting is required without compromising patient safety.
Design & Configuration
The angled, offset shank and blades permit the lower, blunt-tipped blade to be slid easily beneath dressings while the upper blade provides the cutting edge. This configuration keeps the clinician’s hand clear of the wound site and provides visual access to the cutting plane, reducing the risk of skin injury and improving ergonomics during repetitive dressing changes. The blunt lower tip acts as a protective guard between the cutting edge and patient tissue.
