Clinical Application

This instrument is designed to facilitate controlled passage of ligatures and sutures around vascular structures, pedicles, ducts or other tubular anatomy when direct hand access is limited. The long working length enables surgeons to encircle and retrieve suture in deep abdominal, pelvic, thoracic or retroperitoneal exposures, and when working through small incisions or narrow cavities. Common procedural uses include vessel ligation during general and vascular surgery, cystic duct or artery ligation in biliary surgery, and secure suture placement around pedicles in soft-tissue procedures.

Design & Configuration

The instrument features an extended, narrow shaft that provides reach into deep or confined operative fields while minimizing tissue displacement. The blunt, atraumatic eyelet tip is configured to accept and guide a ligature or suture around a structure without cutting or fraying the suture material. A smooth shaft profile and balanced handle geometry allow the user to advance, rotate and retrieve the conductor with tactile control, reducing the need for repeated passes and lowering tissue trauma risk.
