Clinical Application
This left-curved Deschamps ligature needle with a blunt tip is designed to pass suture around vessels, ducts, pedicles and other tubular structures where controlled, atraumatic passage is required. The blunt point minimizes the risk of inadvertent perforation while allowing the instrument to be advanced through tissue planes or around structures for secure ligation. Common clinical settings include general and vascular surgery, gynecologic procedures, thoracic and ENT procedures where ligation in deep or narrow operative fields is necessary.
Design & Configuration
The left curvature orients the needle profile for accessing and encircling structures from the operator’s preferred approach, facilitating placement of a ligature with minimal tissue disruption. The blunt tip displaces rather than cuts tissue, reducing the chance of vessel or duct injury during passage. A 21 cm overall length provides extended reach for deep cavities or when working through a limited incision, allowing the surgeon to control needle trajectory while maintaining tactile feedback.
