Clinical Application
Designed for use in anesthesia, airway management and ENT procedures where controlled placement or manipulation of tubes and catheters is required. The instrument permits guided introduction of endotracheal tubes, nasogastric tubes and other catheters during nasotracheal intubation or enteric tube placement under direct laryngoscopic visualization. It is also used to retrieve small foreign bodies from the oropharynx and upper airway when fine, atraumatic control is needed.
Design & Configuration
The angled, curved shaft and distal angled jaws allow the clinician to follow the anatomic curve of the nasopharynx and oropharynx, providing line-of-sight alignment with the glottic opening while working through the mouth or nose. The geometry facilitates precise positioning of a catheter or tube tip without requiring excessive force or repeated manipulations, reducing mucosal trauma. The length (20 cm) provides sufficient reach for nasally inserted devices while keeping the operator's hand clear of the oral cavity during laryngoscopy.
