Clinical Application
This slender eyelet probe is designed for atraumatic exploration and guidance within soft-tissue tracts, lumens and canals. Typical uses include probing wound or sinus tracts, locating and following discrete channels during debridement, passing suture, ligature, or a leader wire through a created tract, and assisting catheter or drain placement in confined spaces where a controlled, low-profile guide is required.
Design & Configuration
The 16 cm length provides reach into deeper cavities while the 2 mm shaft diameter minimizes tissue displacement and trauma during passage. The terminal eye (eyelet) permits easy threading of suture, filament, or a guide, enabling conversion from a diagnostic probe to a placement aid without additional instrumentation. The smooth, plated surface reduces friction and facilitates atraumatic advancement and withdrawal.
