Clinical Application
Designed to provide stable, hands-free exposure of the anterior cervical and upper thoracic spine during procedures such as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF), corpectomy, and anterior decompression. The frame holds soft tissues and deep retractors in a consistent position to maintain a clear operative corridor for discectomy, interbody graft or cage placement, plate fixation, and endplate preparation. Using a self-retaining retractor frame reduces the need for continuous manual retraction and helps maintain reproducible exposure throughout the case.
Design & Configuration
The open retractor frame is configured as a self-retaining assembly that accepts removable blades, enabling the surgeon to tailor blade length and curvature to patient anatomy and the level of exposure required. A ratchet/locking mechanism permits incremental adjustment and secure maintenance of retraction tension. The frame’s compact profile is intended to preserve line-of-sight for microscope or fluoroscopic imaging and to allow simultaneous use of surgical instruments and implants within the exposure.
