Clinical Application

This lateral blade is designed for use with the Caspar cervical retractor system to provide soft-tissue and fascial retraction during anterior cervical spine procedures such as anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF). The lateral orientation of the blade facilitates side retraction of the longus colli and platysma, improved exposure of the disc space and vertebral bodies, and controlled displacement of neurovascular structures away from the operative field.
