Clinical Application

This short, blunt retractor is designed to provide controlled exposure of superficial soft tissues in confined operative fields. Its 7 cm blade length offers fine depth control and visibility, making it suitable for procedures in otolaryngology (nasal and sinus work), ophthalmic surgery, plastic and reconstructive procedures, hand and microsurgery, and dermatologic excisions. The blunt leading edge allows atraumatic displacement of mucosa and soft tissue during dissection, hemostasis, and wound closure.

Design & Configuration

The compact 7 cm blade reduces lever arm and improves tactile feedback for one-handed retraction in narrow cavities. A smooth, blunt blade profile distributes pressure across tissue to minimize focal trauma and tearing. The slender shaft and low-profile blade minimize obstruction of the operative view while maintaining a stable retraction plane, which is important when working under magnification or in deep, restricted corridors.

Instrument Specifications

  • Instrument type: Handheld retractor
  • Pattern / model: Finsen retractor
  • Configuration: Single-ended blunt blade, handheld
  • Length / size: 7 cm blade length
  • Tip / jaw pattern: Blunt, atraumatic tip
  • Typical surgical use: Superficial soft-tissue retraction in confined operative fields (ENT, ophthalmic, plastic/microsurgery)
  • Material / construction: Surgical-grade stainless steel
  • Reusable: Designed for routine hospital reprocessing

Material & Construction

Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel for corrosion resistance and long service life. The blade is finished to a smooth, atraumatic profile to protect delicate soft tissues during retraction. Constructed for repeated use and designed to withstand standard hospital reprocessing methods.

Quality & Compliance

Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.

Brand Comparison

Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
