Clinical Application
Provides targeted retraction of the aortic wall to optimize exposure of the aortic root, ascending aorta and adjacent structures during open cardiac procedures. The retractor is used to hold the aortic wall edges out of the surgical field to facilitate valve excision, root replacement, coronary reimplantation, anastomosis and inspection during Ross procedures and other aortic surgeries.
Design & Configuration
The 27 x 27 mm blade dimension delivers a symmetric, low-profile footprint for broad, even retraction of the aortic wall without concentrating pressure on a narrow point. A 27 cm overall length gives sufficient reach into the thoracic cavity while maintaining control at the handle for fine adjustments. The Ross pattern is configured to provide stable, unobstructed exposure of the operative site, allowing assistants or the primary surgeon to maintain a consistent field during suturing and graft placement.
