Clinical Application
This retractor is designed to provide atraumatic exposure of pelvic structures during gynecologic procedures. Its curved, flat blade is used for elevating and holding the uterus, vaginal cuff, bladder edge and adjacent soft tissues to improve visualization during vaginal hysterectomy, uterine repair, adnexal procedures and other pelvic surgery. The handheld design gives the assistant or primary surgeon direct control of retraction and allows dynamic adjustment in confined operative fields.
Design & Configuration
The angled, curved blade geometry follows pelvic anatomy to sit flush against tissue planes while distributing pressure across a 73 x 28 mm contact area to reduce focal trauma. The 27 cm overall length provides reach into the deep pelvis while maintaining ergonomic control at the handle. A smooth, flat blade profile permits broad tissue retraction and facilitates sweeping exposure without sharp teeth or fenestrations.
