Clinical Application
Designed for controlled retraction of superficial soft tissues, this blunt 4-prong Volkmann rake provides atraumatic exposure of wound edges, subcutaneous planes, and small operative fields. It is commonly used in general surgery, plastic and reconstructive procedures, ENT, minor orthopedic cases and outpatient procedures where fine, distributed retraction is required without sharp teeth that could lacerate tissue.
Design & Configuration
The four blunt prongs distribute retraction force across multiple contact points to reduce focal pressure and minimize tissue crush. The Volkmann rake profile allows the surgeon or assistant to lift and hold soft tissue with one hand while preserving visibility and access to the operative site. A 21.5 cm length provides reach suitable for superficial to mid-depth wounds while remaining compact for confined fields and fine dissections.
