Clinical Application
Designed for control and temporary occlusion of the cystic (gall) duct during open biliary and gallbladder procedures. The clamp provides secure grasping and distal occlusion to permit safe division, ligation or clip application of the duct while minimizing slippage. Its geometry aids exposure and controlled traction within the triangle of Calot during cholecystectomy and related biliary surgery.
Design & Configuration
The curved shaft aligns with the typical anatomic approach to the gallbladder and cystic duct, allowing the distal jaws to engage the duct at an optimal angle without excessive retraction of surrounding tissue. Narrow, atraumatic jaws concentrate clamping force on the duct while reducing tissue bulk and the risk of collateral injury. A locking ratchet on the handle secures occlusion for hands-free control during suture placement or clip application.
