Clinical Application
Designed for use in open biliary and gallbladder procedures, this clamp provides secure temporary occlusion of the cystic duct to control bile flow during dissection, ligation, and ductal exploration. The 22 cm length offers additional reach for deeper operative fields and improved access in crowded or obese patients, while allowing the surgeon to maintain control of the duct prior to definitive ligation or clipping.
Design & Configuration
The instrument uses a conventional ring-handle design with an interlocking ratchet to permit stepwise, reproducible closure and sustained occlusion without the need for continuous manual pressure. The extended length increases working distance between the surgeon's hand and the operative site, improving visualization and access in open abdominal approaches. The overall geometry is intended to balance reach and tactile feedback so the operator can apply controlled compression to the duct.
