Clinical Application
Designed to provide controlled, atraumatic occlusion of bronchial structures during thoracic surgery. Commonly used to temporarily clamp main, lobar or segmental bronchi during pulmonary resections (lobectomy, pneumonectomy), bronchial repair and stump control to prevent air leak and contamination of the operative field. The clamp enables the surgeon to isolate airway segments for stapling or suturing and to maintain occlusion during bronchoplasty or intraoperative assessment.
Design & Configuration
The curved shaft and 24 cm length provide extended reach into the thoracic cavity and improved approach angles to the hilum and deep-seated bronchial branches. The curved geometry facilitates visualization and instrument alignment along bronchial planes while keeping the surgeon's hands clear of the operative field. A ratcheted locking mechanism permits sustained, hands-free occlusion when clamping is required for airway control or tissue manipulation. The jaw design is intended to distribute occlusive force to minimize focal trauma to bronchial mucosa during temporary clamping.
