Clinical Application
Designed to provide secure temporary occlusion of bleeding vessels and reliable tissue control during operative procedures. The semi-curved Kelly hemostat is commonly used for clamping medium-sized vessels, grasping tissue for suture ligation, blunt dissection in tissue planes, and maintaining hemostasis in general surgery, gynecology, ENT, and outpatient procedures. Its 19 cm length offers reach for deeper pockets while remaining maneuverable in confined operative fields.
Design & Configuration
The semi-curved geometry places the jaw at an angle that improves access to vessels and tissues located in shallow cavities or angled surgical approaches, allowing the working tip to be introduced without excessive instrument shaft interference. The instrument employs a standard ratchet lock and box-lock hinge to provide secure clamping pressure and reliable repeatable performance. Finger rings and ergonomically proportioned shanks support controlled one-handed operation for grasping and ligating.
