Clinical Application
Designed for secure occlusion and atraumatic handling of small-caliber vessels and delicate tissue, this Halstead Mosquito curved forceps is used to control focal bleeding, facilitate ligation, and temporarily clamp during vessel preparation. Its fine profile and curved tip make it well suited for confined operative fields encountered in general, pediatric, plastic, ENT and minor vascular procedures.
Design & Configuration
The curved geometry improves line-of-sight and access around tissue planes and sutures, allowing the surgeon to approach vessels at an angle while keeping the shaft clear of the operative field. The 1x2 tooth tip provides an asymmetric interlock that secures tissue with minimal slippage, combining a precise grip with reduced crushing area compared with larger clamps. A ratchet mechanism with a precision box lock permits controlled, graduated closure and reliable instrument alignment.
