Clinical Application
Designed for controlled curettage and debridement, this instrument is used where precise removal of soft tissue, granulation tissue or superficial lesions is required. Typical applications include dermatologic lesion removal, otolaryngology and oral surgery procedures, wound bed preparation and targeted sampling for histopathology. The cupped working end facilitates removal of tissue while preserving surrounding structures and enables collection of curettage specimens.
Design & Configuration
The 14 cm overall length provides extended reach into cavities and deeper operative sites while retaining tactile feedback at the working end. The Wolff Lupus family uses defined working-end profiles identified by figure numbers; Fig.5 denotes a specific cup geometry selected for a balance of surface area and access. The cupped (spoon-shaped) tip concentrates scraping force at the rim for efficient debridement and controlled tissue removal, helping surgeons perform delicate curettage with precision.
